Two North Haven Football Alums Impress at Western Connecticut’s Spring Practice
The Western Connecticut State University football team recently finished its spring football practice session and a couple of North Haven football alums fared well by joining the Colonials’ 1,000-pound club.
John Tondalo, an offensive lineman, bench-pressed 335 pounds, cleaned 250, and squatted 545 for a total of 1,130 pounds. Mike Siwek, a defensive lineman, benched 365, cleaned 250, and squatted 505 to reach the 1,120-pound mark. Tondalo, a criminal justice major, and Siwek, who is pursuing a degree in physical education, will be entering their senior years with Western Connecticut’s football squad in the fall. Both athletes played football at North Haven High School and in the town’s youth football ranks.
