Joseph J. Seeley, 91, of Chestnut St., Branford, died in Branford on Nov. 3. He was the beloved husband of Velma R. Vanlieu Seeley. He was born March 20, 1921 in St. John, New Brunswick, Canada, and served with the Canadian Army. Mr. Seeley was employed for over 31 years with the New Haven Water Company, retiring in 1987.

Besides his wife, he is survived by two children, Carol Perry of North Branford and Steven W. Seeley and his wife Cindy of Aiken, South Carolina; five grandchildren, Danielle Johnson, Michael Perry, Erica Seeley, Steven Seeley and Scott Seeley; and two sisters, Evelyn Oakes of Maine and Joanne White of Louisiana. He is also survived by five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son-in-law, Peter J. Perry; a granddaughter, Gretchen Perry; and several brothers.

Burial will be private.
