Julia Donofrio, 101, Formerly of Branford
Julia Riccio Coppola Donofrio, 101, formerly of 26 Monroe St., Branford, died in New Haven on March 3. She was the wife of the late Salvatore Donofrio. Mrs. Donofrio was born in New Haven on June 22, 1911, daughter of the late Jack and Victoria Mazzacane Riccio. She was adopted as a child by Pasquale and Mariagiuseppa Coppola of Branford.
Mrs. Donofrio had worked as a seamstress for the Sero Shirt Company. She was also a communicant of St. Mary Church, Branford.
She is survived by three children, Louis T. Donofrio of Branford, Grace Novak of Derby, and Patrick Donofrio of West Haven; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter, Dolores Takores; six sisters; and three brothers.
Her funeral procession will leave the W.S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main St., Branford, on Friday, March 8, at 10 a.m., for a mass of Christian burial at St. Mary Church at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Agnes Cemetery.
