Carmel A. Lembo, 92, of Wallingford, formerly of Branford, died May 9 at Connecticut Hospice, Branford. She was the beloved wife of the late Dante Lembo. Mrs. Lembo was born in New Haven July 16, 1924, daughter of the late Ralph and Louise Altieri Sanzone.
She was a graduate of Hillhouse High School and formerly lived in West Haven and New Haven, until moving to Branford in 1958. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother, who took great joy in cooking for her family.
She is survived by her children Donna (Ron) Corcoran of Cheshire, Regina Lembo (Peter Howard) of Ridgefield, and Claire (Rick) DiNorscia of North Haven; her grandchildren Michael (Lauren) Corcoran, David Corcoran, and Lauren DiNorscia; and her great-grandson Derek Corcoran. She was predeceased by her siblings Blase Sanzone, Sr., Edward Sanzone, Anthony Sansone, Lillian Jablonski, and Ann Hill.
Her funeral left the W.S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 N. Main St., Branford, May 12 for a Mass of Christian burial in St. Mary Church. Burial followed in St. Agnes Cemetery. Visiting hours were held May 11. For an online memorial, visit www.wsclancy.com.
