Thomas Eli Reed, 79, Deep River
Thomas Eli Reed, age 79, of Deep River, passed away on May 26 at the Yale-New Haven Hospital in New Haven. He was the beloved husband of Bonnie Jean (Wilson) Reed. Tom was born in Erie, Pennsylvania, on November 30, 1934, the son of William Charles and Margaret (McDonald) Reed.
He was raised in Erie and attended local school there. Tom proudly served his country during the Korean conflict as a member of the U.S. Navy. He had been a resident of Deep River since 1973. He and Bonnie Jean were married in Groton in 1971. Tom owned and operated R.P.S. Desk Top Publishing Company in Deep River for more than 10 years. He was a communicant at Saint Joseph’s Church in Chester and enjoyed golf, fishing, history, and current events.
Besides his wife Bonnie Jean, he leaves his children Thomas S. Reed, of Florida, and Donna J. Vera, of Connecticut; his sister, Sister Mary Alice Reed, S.S.J., of Erie, Pennsylvania; his grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and his many nieces and nephews. Tom was predeceased by his sister Arlene Seib and his brother William Peter Reed.
Funeral services will be privately held by his family.
