Alba Rose Bourne, 85, Branford
Alba Rose Bourne, 85, of Branford, died Aug. 20 at the Connecticut Hospice. She was the wife of the late Norman Bourne. Alba was born in New Haven on May 17, 1927, daughter of the late Ralph and Rosina Vigone Barile. She was a graduate of the Meriden Hospital Nursing School and had worked at Roger Williams Hospital in Providence, Rhode Island, for two years. She then went back to work at Meriden Hospital until she left to work with her brother, Dr. Albert Barile in New Haven, until his death. www.wsclancy.com.
She is survived by her sons, Alan Bourne of Lisbon, and Richard Bourne and his wife Rosemary of Branford, and two grandchildren, Richard and Danielle Bourne. She was predeceased by three brothers, James, Anthony, and Dr. Albert Barile, and four sisters, Giconta "Chic" Belenardo, Mary Mitchell, Eleanor Tesicone, and Amelia "Molly" Adamo.
Friends may call on Wednesday, Aug. 22, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the W.S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main St., Branford. Her funeral and burial will be private.
