Adah E. Simons Stalnaker, 87, East Randolph, Vermont, formerly of North Haven and Madison
Adah E. Simons Stalnaker, 87, of East Randolph, Vermont, formerly of North Haven and Madison, died peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Feb. 18. She was the beloved wife of the late Thurl Stalnaker, Sr. Mrs. Stalnaker was born in Fitchburg, Massachusetts, on May 6, 1923, daughter of the late Colonel Webster L. Simons and Dorothy Swett Simons. She was a longtime North Haven resident and had been a member of St. John's Episcopal Church for many years. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend to many.
She is survived by a daughter, Elizabeth G. Wojtkiewicz and her husband Elrond of Madison; four sons, Thurl Stalnaker, Jr. and his wife Shelly of Aloha, Oregon, Howard W. Stalnaker and his wife Nancy of Colchester, Vermont, Scott E. Stalnaker and his wife Teri Moneysmith of Pflugerville, Texas, and Craig S. Stalnaker and his wife Loretta of East Randolph, Vermont; a sister, Dorothy Gibson of Alexandria, Virginia; a brother, Rev. Harrison Simons and his wife Gene of Oxford, North Carolina; 10 grandchildren; and a great-grandson. She was predeceased by two sisters, Virginia Haskell and Martha Bullwinkle, and three brothers, Rev. Webster Simons, Duncan Simons, and Rev. John Simons.
There will be no calling hours. Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral service on Wednesday, Feb. 23, at 10 a.m., at St. John's Episcopal Church, 3 Trumbull Place, North Haven. Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery, North Haven.
