Branford Police Incident Report for July 19 to 22
The Sound publishes a Police Incident Report to inform residents of incidents, criminal activities, and police responses occurring in Branford and North Branford. As those charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty, the report does not include names. It may be edited for space and content.
Saturday, July 19
• A 65 year-old man of Cottage Street was arrested at 4:29 p.m. and charged with disorderly conduct.
• An 18 year-old New Haven woman was arrested at 6:44 p.m. and charged with larceny in the sixth degree, possession of less than ½ ounce of marijuana, and use or possession of drug paraphernalia containing less than ½ ounce of marijuana.
• An 18 year-old Wallingford woman was arrested at 6:50 p.m. and charged with larceny in the sixth degree and use or possession of drug paraphernalia containing less than ½ ounce of marijuana.
• A 32 year-old Madison man was arrested at 11:12 p.m. and charged with illegal possession of narcotics.
• A 32 year-old man of a Brushy Plain Road apartment was issued a misdemeanor summons at 11:42 p.m. for operating a motor vehicle while under license suspension.
Sunday, July 20
• A 49 year-old man of a Main Street apartment was arrested at 6:42 p.m. and charged with larceny in the sixth degree.
• A 32 year-old man of a Main Street apartment was issued a misdemeanor summons at 5:57 p.m. for operating a motor vehicle while under license suspension and operating an unregistered motor vehicle.
Monday, July 21
• A 26 year-old woman and a 20 year-old woman of the same Main Street apartment were arrested at 12:10 a.m. Each party was charged with disorderly conduct under the domestic violence act.
Tuesday, July 22
• A 51 year-old man of Howd Avenue was arrested at 10:05 a.m. and charged with breach of peace, and following too close with intent to harass, and failure to obey a stop sign.
• A 58 year-old East Haven man was arrested at 2:15 p.m. and charged with breach of peace.
• A 25 year-old man of Maple Street was issued a misdemeanor summons at 6:28 a.m. for operating a motor vehicle while under license suspension.
From July 16 to 22 Branford police also issued 22 citations for operating an unregistered motor vehicle, 17 citations to motorists for using a hand-held cell phone while driving, and five citations for failure to wear a seat belt in the front seat.
