Annual Spaghetti Dinner Helps Keep HEAT on for Saybrook Neighbors in Need
With cold weather comes some tough times for Old Saybrook residents living at the edge of their paychecks. Once again HEAT is here to help—and making it easy for the community to help—with its annual spaghetti dinner fundraiser on Thursday, Nov. 15 from 4 and 6:30 p.m. at Fireman’s Field, 210 Elm Street, Old Saybrook.
Admission remains $10 ticket, which provides a complete pasta dinner with salad, beverages, and dessert. Children accompanied by adults eat for free. Due to donated food and labor and the Old Saybrook Volunteer Fire Department offering the Fireman’s Field facility for free, 100 percent of the proceeds goes to HEAT’s emergency energy assistance program.
For those unable to sit and enjoy the dinner, take-out meals are also available. Tickets are available at the door or in advance at the Old Saybrook Stop & Shop customer service center.
Each year HEAT’s annual spaghetti dinner at Fireman’s Field raises funds to offset the energy bills of local low-income households already qualified by the town’s social services coordinator to receive state assistance due to their lower income.
