Kate Tracy Demers, 100, of Orchard Hill Road, Branford, died on April 20 at the Connecticut Hospice in Branford. She was married to Raymond A. Demers for more than 52 years when he predeceased her in 1998. She was born in New Rochelle, New York, on Dec. 27, 1914, the daughter of Jacques Tracy and Alice Riggs Tracy, and the granddaughter of the renowned painter John Martin Tracy.
She is survived by her son Ronald F. Demers of Oriental, North Carolina, and her daughter Jacqueline Collins of Branford. In addition, she is survived by two granddaughters, Bridget Collins of Washington D.C., and Kate Maher of Groton, Massachusetts; and a grandson, Sean Collins of Oakland, California. She was also predeceased by two sisters, Alice Attride and Reine Kidder, and two brothers, William Tracy and Jack Tracy.
A graveside service was held on April 28 at St. Agnes Cemetery in Branford. The W.S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main St., Branford, was in charge of arrangements.
