Ronald F. Bangs, 64, of Deep River passed away unexpectedly on July 17 at Yale-New Haven Hospital as a result of a bicycling accident in Deep River. Ron was born in Middletown, the son of Arthur F. Bangs, Sr., and Evelyn Agnes (Mowry) Bangs.
He was a resident of Deep River since 1983 and was formerly of Ivoryton. Ron was a graduate of Valley Regional High School in Deep River. He owned and operated a lawn care business and was a driver for 9 Town Transit. For many years until the present, he was a school bus driver employed by First Student Bus Company, serving the communities of Deep River, Chester, Westbrook, and Middletown. Ron was an avid hunter and fisherman, and was a member of the Higganum-Haddam Sportsman Club. He was also a member of the Deep River Drum Corps.
He is survived by his sister Barbara B. Jette of Old Saybrook; four nieces; one nephew; two great-nieces; one great-nephew; one great-great niece; and one great-great nephew. Ron was predeceased by his parents and his brother Arthur F. “Skip” Bangs, Jr.
