The Old Saybrook boys' basketball squad sure had its share of excitement this season, particularly during the postseason. Under Head Coach Tim Arsenault, the Rams boasted an overall 10-13 record (7-11 in the Shoreline Conference) and earned nail-biting victories in both the Class S first (versus Coventry) and second (versus Westbrook) rounds as the underdog 27th seed before being ousted in the quarterfinal in a loss to eventual state champion Granby.

The Rams also had a slew of great wins during the regular season, particularly with a victory versus Haddam-Killingworth in early February, along with wins over Morgan and Hyde, games that Arsenault said "were the best performances of the regular season."

Leading the pack were senior captains Mike Barrett and Mike Souza, with seniors Nick DuBord and Suraj Khosla also contributing greatly. Barrett was named First Team All-Shoreline and had a number of big games for the Rams, namely scoring 33 points versus Hyde, 29 versus North Branford, and two back-to-back game-winning buzzer beaters in both the first and second round of the Class S State Tournament. Barrett was also the team's leading scorer with 18.2 points per game, while junior Sam Henry was the second-leading scorer with 14.4 points per game on average. Juniors Danny Murphy and Nate Corrado played key roles throughout the season for the Rams as well, as Arsenault noted that "Murphy was the best defensive player in the program, always facing the other team's best player." Corrado was the first player off the bench in every game for Old Saybrook, and Arsenault credited him as being "an excellent defender, scoring six to eight points in almost all of our key wins."
