Anna Marie Acampora, 97, of New Haven, died on Oct. 5. She was the wife of the late Frank E. Acampora, Sr. She was born in New Haven on Oct. 4, 1918 to the late Anthony and Marie DiLashcio Panico. She loved to write poetry and some of her works were even recognized with awards.
She is survived by a sister, Angela Cingo of Shelton; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren, including Jeni Thaller of East Haven, who gave special love and care to her great grandmother these past few years; and 12 great- great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by two sons, Frank E. Acampora, Jr., and Paul Acampora; five brothers, Peter, Carmen, John, Donato, and Paul Panico; and three sisters, Vincenza Fiociello, Annette Panico, and Mary Fusco.
A graveside service was held at All Saints Cemetery, North Haven. The East Haven Memorial Funeral Home was is in charge of arrangements.
