Local comedian to advance to finals in the Last Comix Standing competition
UNCASVILLE - Local comedian, John Romanoff to compete in the Last Comix Standing finals at Comix Mohegan Sun.
The West Haven comic is a semifinalist in Comix Mohegan Sun’s seventh Last Comix Standing contest at Mohegan Sun Casino.
He’ll perform with three other comedians Sunday night at 8pm, the second of three semifinal Sundays that will pare-down a dozen comics to three finalists on Oct. 8.
The winner will take home $1,750, more show dates and an opening gig for a headliner.
“The contest has been a lot of fun,” Romanoff said, “I’m looking to take home the grand prize, but everyone in the contest has done a killer job.”
Romanoff will perform a 15-minute set and be evaluated on three deciding factors; stage presence, crowd reaction, and originality. John has appeared on NBC TV, FOX TV and also on AXS TV’S Gotham Comedy Live. John has also opened for such talents as Andrew "Dice" Clay, Jim Jefferies, Nick DiPaolo, Bo Burnham and the late great Patrice O'Neal. John was the grand prize winner in the “Funniest Comic in New England” Contest, taking home the big prize in the 2012 stand-up comedy competition. Two hundred and fifty comics competed from Vermont, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Massachusetts and Connecticut. He was a Finalist in WORLD SERIES OF Comedy in Las Vegas in 2015 & 16
