Has Always Responded
I am writing to respond to a letter to the editor ["Articulate, Caring, and Compassionate," Susan Liebel, Sept. 27] in support of the Republican opponent of State Senator Ed Meyer. In her letter, Ms. Liebel complained that Ed Meyer did not respond to her email that she sent to him in February.
I am responding because Senator Meyer has not only responded to all of my requests but to those of many neighbors in our community with Department of Energy and Environmental Protection complaints, the need for sidewalks and a stop light, state dollars for libraries, state dollars for Hospice, and road and highway repairs, etc. Ed Meyer supported legislation that helps veterans and all unemployed people get the training they need to get a job and Ed Meyer supported small businesses in his district so that they can hire more people. The list goes on and on, but only 300 words are allowed for this letter by this paper.
It is certainly possible that an email (probably one of thousands) was missed and I am sure Ed Meyer was upset to discover that even one fell through the cracks. He has only one staff person to cover all matters in six towns so it is possible for an email to be accidentally missed.
Ed Meyer deserves the support of the of every town in the district. He is truly a dedicated servant.
