This year’s festivities will also include door prizes, a lunch fare of hotdogs, salads, pickles, chips, soda, coffee, and dessert will be provided all made possible through the generosity of Stop & Shop in Trolley Square, Dunkin Donuts on Main Street, Bardell Office Supplies, Automated Services, M.D. Stetson, Calabro Cheese, and Goodys Hardware along with a number of local restaurants and business that donated gift certificates for the door prize raffle, such as ShopRite of East Haven, and in past years has included Aniello’s, Bistro Mediterranean, Flowers by Lisa, Jennifer’s Ice Cream, John & Maria’s, Twin Pines Diner, The Rib House, and Sandpiper. These businesses have graciously donated year after year to this event honoring our seniors.
Seniors are reminded to bring their own chairs for additional comfort.
All seniors are welcome to join the mayor for this day of fun, food, and entertainment.
“This annual day, dedicated to paying tribute to our greatest generation, is one of our town’s most unique and enjoyable events. To be able to show our appreciation to those who sacrificed and toiled for many years for their family, their town, and of course their country, is one of my most pleasing tasks as mayor and one I will always look forward to,” said Maturo. “Anything we can do to show our gratitude and repay our ancestors for all they have done for us should always be one of our highest priorities.”
In case of inclement weather, the festivities will be held at the East Haven Senior Center, 91 Taylor Avenue.
