In 2019, the people of East Haven granted me the awesome privilege of serving as our community’s State Representative. A year later, in 2020, I gained a valuable partner in my legislative role – State Senator Paul Cicarella.

Paul Cicarella is a blue-collar success story, like so many people from East Haven and the 34th Senate District. He’s a small business owner, a patient father, and a dedicated husband. He brings those perspectives to his service in the legislature, advocating for common sense solutions that help families, small businesses, and people of all walks of life to get ahead.

Paul, like me, is also a fierce advocate for making our state more affordable, expanding resources for public safety, and protecting local control of housing and zoning decisions. Since 2020, he’s been a reliable, trusted ally, who has worked with me and across the aisle on these and other issues. And on the few occasions it’s been necessary, he’s rolled up his sleeves and fought alongside me to protect our community.

Serving with Sen. Cicarella, what I’ve come to admire most about him is his commitment to the job. He has a meaningful presence in the district. His leadership was the driving force behind the advancement of East Haven High School’s revamped career and technical education program. He literally goes to everything, and not just for the photo ops. He’s present and engaged because he truly cares. He actively participates in governing, taking the time to learn so he can help the people he serves.

Paul is enthusiastic and he has quickly earned respect from his peers in the legislature. He has my respect, and I am hopeful that anyone who supports me will join me in supporting his reelection on Tuesday, Nov. 5.
