I’m happy to endorse Renee La Mark Muir as State Representative for the 36th District (Chester, Essex, Deep River, and Haddam). Renee has been a long-time resident of this area. She grew up in the Connecticut River Valley and has lived in Deep River for 30 years.

Since first announcing her candidacy, Renee has spent the past few months going out into the community to meet with people and to listen to their thoughts, concerns, and perspectives. You have probably seen her at community events throughout the area and in your neighborhoods, and hopefully, you’ve had a chance to meet her and hear her fresh ideas. She has a platform that reflects the needs of the constituents that she intends to serve. This includes protecting the environment, ensuring safety in our towns, protecting women’s healthcare and reproductive rights, and advocating for affordable housing. She is known to be someone who will work across party lines to do what is fair and to get the job done.

Renee has a background working as a policy analyst, police officer, detective, and investigator of public corruption and governmental malfeasance. This makes her uniquely qualified to represent us in our state government. She understands how the system works, and throughout her career, she has demonstrated passion and commitment to work for a just society.
