Anne Elizabeth Pyne, age 79, died peacefully from a long illness on April 18 at the Watrous Nursing Center, Madison. She leaves behind her loving husband of 54 years, Christopher; her three sons, Stephen (and Pamela), Geoffrey (and Charlene), and Douglas (and Christine); her brother Andrew (and Emma); her brother-in-law Terry (and Patricia); and grandsons Timothy and Christopher.
Anne was born to Madeleine and Andrew Brown in Newport, Rhode Island. She graduated from Rogers High School, Newport, Rhode Island, and Roger Williams School of Nursing, Providence, Rhode Island. She moved with her husband to Madison in 1970, where she raised her three sons as a full-time mother. As they grew older and moved on with their own lives, she spent many hours volunteering in the community, visiting nursing homes, shut-ins, and others in need of caring visits, including the Middlesex Hospital Hospice. She was also the parish visitor and a lay Eucharistic minister for St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Madison.
A service celebrating her life will be held on April 27 at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Madison. Donations in her memory may be sent to the Nature Conservancy, or St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church endowment fund. For online condolences, please visit www.CremationCT.com.
