Essex Winter Series Awarded Supporting Arts Grant Funding from CT Office of the Arts/DECD
Press Release from Essex Winter Series
The state’s Department of Economic and Community Development has announced the recipients of the 2024 Supporting Arts Grants given through the Connecticut Office of the Arts, which also receives support from the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency. Essex Winter Series (EWS) is grateful to once again be one of the 232 recipients of grants totaling more than $1,000,000. The amount of $3,271 amount received by EWS will help to support its seasonal programming, which touches the lives of so many who attend its world-class classical and jazz concerts each year.
This funding, which provides the grantee with the flexibility to use the funds where most needed, is a boon for EWS and other non-profits. For EWS, its goal for 47 years has been to bring the finest music to the greater community.
“This funding will help our organization to continue its mission and work to expand our enrichment to a wider audience,” said Susan Guernsey, president of the EWS Board of Trustees.
EWS is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with a mission to bring the finest music in live performance during the winter months for the widest and most culturally, economically, and socially diverse audience possible in the Connecticut River Valley and shoreline region for purposes of cultivating its appreciation through concerts and educational outreach.
