Henrietta P. “Hank” Schildge
Henrietta P. “Hank” (Schumacher) Schildge, 97, a longtime resident of Westbrook, passed away peacefully at her home on May 30, 2024. Wife of the late Milton F. Schildge.
Henrietta was born in New Haven on March 10, 1927, the daughter of the late Herman J. Schumacher and Margarete G. (Brose) Schumacher. She was predeceased by her sisters, Dorothy Moore, Margarete Zukowski, and Cynthia Paul.
Loving mother of Patricia Carlson (William) of Clinton, Kathleen O’Shea of Virginia, James King (Beth) of Clinton, Patrick King (Sandy) of Westbrook, Nancy Foryan (Joseph) of Florida, Cynthia Winninger (Timothy) of South Carolina, Sally Schildge, Robin Schildge, Lyla Brown, Debbie Lukiwitz, and was predeceased by Robert and Russel Schildge. She is also survived by 40 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Henrietta was a deli manager at First National Stores in Clinton and Deep River. A Lifetime member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post #66 in Clinton. Longtime member of the Woodbridge Congregational Church Choir. She was an avid bingo player. In her younger years, she drove stock cars at the Norwood Arena Speedway in Norwood, Massachusetts, and Waterford Speedbowl.
Friends are invited to calling hours from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday, June 7, at the Guilford Funeral Home, 115 Church Street, Guilford. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. Friday, June 7, at Guilford Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Eastside Cemetery, 157 Pease Rd, Woodbridge.
