Press Release, The Denise D'Ascenzo Foundation
Register now to join The Denise D'Ascenzo Foundation for its third annual fundraising walk in memory of Connecticut’s beloved news anchor, Denise D’Ascenzo, formerly of Branford.
The two-mile health walk takes off on Saturday, April 27 at 10 a.m. on Quinnipiac University’s Mount Carmel campus in Hamden. The event will be held rain or shine, and will feature a walk, pizza truck, snacks, refreshments, children’s activities, fife and drum players and more. WFSB-TV 3’s Kara Sundlun and WTNH-TV 8’s Dennis House will emcee the event.
“We are excited to again host this event in honor of Denise’s legacy as one of Connecticut’s longest-serving news anchor, broadcasting on Channel 3 for over 33 years and, just as importantly, as a wonderful human being,” explained Wayne Cooke, Denise’s husband and a member of The Denise D’Ascenzo Foundation.
This year, walkers can register to support The Denise D’Ascenzo Foundation or one of the partner charities when they register. They are ALS United CT; Davis Phinney Foundation for Parkinson’s; Project Purple; PWS Families United; RSDSA; and Hope in Focus. To register, go to: www.thedenisefoundation.com. Walk-ins welcome on event day.
