Gahm Races in Indoor Track Nationals, Boys’ Ice Hockey Falls in States
Girls’ Ice Hockey
The Guilford Co-op girls’ ice hockey team entered the SCC Tournament as the No. 6 seed. In the first round on Feb. 19, the team traveled to No. 3 Hamden Co-op and lost 5-0.
Boys’ Ice Hockey
Guilford boys’ ice hockey entered the Division II State Tournament as the No. 7 seed. In the first round on March 5, the team hosted No. 10 Wethersfield and won 3-0.
In the quarterfinals on March 8, the Grizzlies faced East Haven Co-op and lost 5-2. Goal scorers for Guilford were Nate Ponzio (unassisted) and Brady Raffone (unassisted). Brett Pattison manned the net, allowing five goals on 45 saves.
Boys’ Basketball
The Guilford boys’ basketball team entered the SCC Tournament as the No. 13 seed. The team traveled to No. 4 Wilbur Cross in the first round on Feb. 22 and fell 73-54.
The team then set its sights on the Division II State Tournament, where it entered as the No. 24 seed. The Grizzlies faced No. 9 Farmington in the first round on March 4 and lost 64-45.
Girls’ Indoor Track
Guilford senior Clara Gahm qualified for the Nike Indoor Nationals track meet held at the Armory in NYC on March 10. She ran a 5:17 mile, coming in 36th in the Emerging Elites group.
