Boys’ Basketball Earns Two Big Victories

H-K boys’ basketball traveled to Academy of International Studies on Feb. 21 to close out the regular season, and grabbed a 63-48 win. Andrew Crayton scored 17 points and collected four rebounds. Blake Kamoen added 11 points and four rebounds, and Jay Evans scored 11 points. Other offensive contributors included Declan Moriarty (five points), Ryan Erskine (two points), Bryce O’Linn (four points), Luke Mauri (four points), Noah Marica (two points), Brody Ferguson (two points), and Cody Robinson (five points). Kamoen also had three steals and three assists. The Cougars finished the regular season with a record of 14-6 as they lock in on the Shoreline Conference and state tournaments.
The Cougars played in the Shoreline Conference quarterfinals on Feb. 24, hosting Coginchaug and winning 75-64. Crayton led the way for H-K, with 24 points, six rebounds, eight assists, and two steals. Erskine added 14 points in the victory, and Kamoen recorded a double-double, with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Moriarty also scored 13 points, while O’Linn scored four. Robinson added three points, and Joe Slane and Evans had two points each.
