Clark Alfred Johnson of Short Beach, Branford, died on Jan. 4, 2024, at his home after a brave and strong battle with ALS. He was the beloved husband of Donna Erickson Johnson. Clark was born in New Haven on July 17, 1951, to Craig Johnson and the late Gail Bolter Johnson. Clark loved the ocean. He worked alongside his father at their family-owned Johnson’s Marina, then as a service manager at Cedar Island Marina until his retirement. He attended Branford High School, where he enjoyed playing sports, especially football. Clark was an avid Mets, Patriots, and UConn basketball fan. As a loving and dedicated Poppy, he enjoyed attending sporting events, concerts, plays, recitals, art shows, and anything else that made his grandchildren shine.
The family most sincerely thanks ALS United CT, nurses and specialists from Yale-New Haven Health (Guilford), Home Hospice Care, Dr. Richard Slater, and staff for all the care and comfort that helped him through this horrible disease.
In lieu of flowers, please forward any donations to ALS United CT in hopes that one day soon we can wipe out this devastating disease: ALS United CT, 4 Oxford Road, Suite E4, Milford, CT 06460 www.ALSunitedCT.org (Clark Johnson).
