Edward J. Kiczyinski
Edward J. “Ed” Kiczyinski, of Branford, died on Nov. 10 at The Ark at Branford Hills. He was the husband of the late Barbara Sciarra Kiczyinski. Ed was born in Branford on Nov. 14, 1928, the son of the late Anthony and Vadis Domkowski Kiczyinski.
He was a Korean War veteran of the U. S. Air Force, serving with the 39th Fighter Squadron. He worked as an operating engineer for Local 478 with the Cosgrove Construction Company for many years until his retirement. He was also a federally licensed demolition expert. He was a member of the former St. Elizabeth Church in Branford, now St. John Bosco.
Ed is survived by his sons, Edward J. (Joan) Kacey of Orange, Michael E. Kiczyinski, and Mark A. Kiczyinski, both of Branford, and Matthew J. (Tanya) Kiczyinski of Middletown, Rhode Island; his granddaughter Nicole Kacey; and great-grandchildren, Maddy and Laura Kacey.
A funeral service was on Nov. 15 at the W. S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main Street, Branford. Burial followed in St. Agnes Cemetery. Visiting hours were on Nov. 14. For directions and an online memorial, see www.wsclancy.com.
