Annual GIFV Pasta Dinner Ready for 22nd Year
Press Release from Guilford Interfaith Volunteers
The Guilford Interfaith Volunteers (GIFV) 22nd annual Lasagna Dinner will be held on Friday, Nov. 10 at the Community Center on 32 Church Street. The event is co-sponsored by Guilford Parks & Recreation and Guilford Meals on Wheels.
The dinner honors veterans and raises funds for Meals on Wheels, which, now more than ever, needs community support.
“The event means a lot to our organization and to the Guilford Park & Rec Department because it is a way to honor our veterans, which is the most important purpose, and at the same time help support the Guilford Meals on Wheels program,” said Christi Burton, the director of GIFV, which oversees the Meals on Wheels program. “We have a delicious meal offered, and it is prepared by Larry Santamaria, the town chef and the director of the Guilford VFW, and his talented kitchen crew.”
The menu will feature Santamaria’s famous vegetable or meat lasagna, along with salad, bread, and dessert. To order, call the Guilford Interfaith Volunteer office at 203-453-8359 from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. through Friday, Nov. 3 or mail payment to MOW, 310 State Street Unit 200, Guilford, CT 06437.
Tickets for adults are $20, and tickets for veterans are free with a reservation. Tickets for seniors are $18. Reservations must be made by Friday, Nov 5. Sit-down or take-out meals are available. Sit-down meals are served from 5 to 5:30 p.m., and take-out is from 3 to 4:30 p.m.
