Election Day in Old Saybrook is Nov. 7
With Election Day just around the corner on Tuesday, Nov. 7, Old Saybrook voters are ready to make their voices heard at the polls.
Polls are open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Old Saybrook Middle School at 60 Sheffield Street for voters in District One and at Old Saybrook Senior High School, 1111 Boston Post Road, for voters in District Two.

When Election Day comes, it looks like there won’t be much in the way of new leadership at the town’s top board. The Democrats elected not to run a candidate for first selectman, and the Board of Selectman nominees are all incumbents.
Republican Carl Fortuna will be reelected as first selectman, while Republican incumbent Scott Giegerich and Democratic incumbent Matt Pugliese will be reelected as selectmen.
For the Board of Finance, voters can choose up to three of the candidates. The candidates are Democrats Meghan Brady, George Chang, and Justin B. Terribile, as well as Republicans Thomas Stevenson, Rick Swan, and Eric Dussault.
For the Board of Education, voters can vote for any four of the candidates. They are Democrats Jack Cardello, Earl Swain, and Jane Wisialowski, as well as Republicans Alan Hyla, James Henderson, and Karina Julius. Kelley Kennedy is running unopposed for a two-year term to fill a vacancy.
Democrat Joan Strickland is running for the Board of Assessment Appeals, while the Republican candidates are Matt Diamond and Peter Gallagher. Voters can choose up to two candidates.
The Planning Commission Democratic candidates include Michael Bender, while the Republican candidates are Douglas McCracken and Jonathan Miles.
Democrats Laura P. Gray and Justin B. Terribile and Republicans Mark Caldarella and John Henry are the candidates for the Zoning Commission. Voters can choose up to three.
For the three open seats on the Police Commission, Democrats nominated Mark Ciliano while Republicans nominated Joseph Maselli, Carl Von Dassel, and Jacqueline Prast. Voters may choose up to three candidates.
For the Zoning Board of Appeals, the Democratic candidates are Alfred “Chub” Wilcox and C. Marston Ladd, as well as Republican Frank Keeney. Republican Erin Colwell is running unopposed for a two-year stint on the board.
The Parks and Recreation Democratic candidates are Susan Esty, Rob LeMire, and Beth Soden, while the Republican candidates are Alejandro Bertran, Bror Ashe, and Star Rueckert. Voters can choose up to four.
For the Harbor Management Commission, the Democratic candidate is Paul Connolly, and the Republican candidates are Robert Murphy and Louis Vinciguerra. Voters can choose up to three.
Barbara Labriola is running unopposed for town treasurer
Marc Delmonico is running unopposed for tax collector.
