The Shoreline Chamber will present the 8th annual Women of Excellence Awards luncheon at The Woodwinds on Tuesday, Aug. 22, with returning emcee Ann Nyberg of WTNH.

The Women of Excellence awards ceremony recognizes women from the towns of Branford, Guilford, and North Branford who exhibit inspirational qualities and demonstrate a vision to better our community through her career or through volunteering, mentoring, and empowering others through her leadership.

This year’s Women of Excellence award recipients are:

• Business Leadership: Christine Beirne, Executive Vice President, Chief Talent and Culture Officer — GSB

• Education & Public Service: Kathleen (Katie) Balestracci, Ph.D., MSW, Chair, Guilford Board of Education; Yale Research Scientist

• Philanthropy: Stephanie Herzog, (Branford) Owner Bespoke & SVM Design; Board Member, Cure Rare Disease

• Public Service: Rose Angeloni, North Branford Town Council

• The Arts & Public Service: Bonnie Symansky, Producer; North Branford Land Conservation Trust

• The Arts: Jeanette Mobeck, Board of Directors, Branford Arts & Cultural Alliance

“The women to be honored this year are all multi-faceted and great role models. I am happy to know each one of them,” said Dee Jacob, President of the Shoreline Chamber. “We celebrate these women from varied backgrounds and professions to ensure our granddaughters and daughters have a vision for all the possibilities that lie ahead of them.
