Got Carts? Wait ‘til July 3 to Begin Curbside Use in Branford
On June 13, crews began delivering new 95-gallon trash and recycling carts to Branford residences. Deliveries will continue as the Town readies to begin its new automated curbside collection program starting as of Monday, July 3.
Until that time, residents should continue using their current trash barrels and recycling bins. The current trash hauler will not service any residence where the new carts have been placed out for trash or recycling collection prior to Monday, July 3.
A notice posted on the Town of Branford website on June 13 noted that residents who have requested smaller, 65-gallon carts will receive them when distributed at a “later date when the shipments arrive.” At this time, residents with 95-gallon carts cannot switch to the smaller size cart.
Residents who want to dispose of old trash and recycling bins will be able to have them collected as a drop-off system at the town Transfer Station in the beginning of July.
