Joanne M. Palmisano Iannuzzi
Joanne M. Palmisano Iannuzzi, 79, of North Haven, passed away peacefully on May 27 at Hamden Health Care. She was the beloved wife of 59 years to Ralph Iannuzzi. Joanne was born in New Haven, on Brown Street in the Wooster Square area, on Feb. 12, 1944, and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Madeline DeCrescenzo Palmisano.
She was a graduate of Wilbur Cross High School. She had worked in the cafeteria of Ridge Road School, North Haven, until her retirement. Joanne was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and a caregiver to all. She enjoyed hosting parties by the pool with her family and friends. Her greatest joy was her family, whom she loved unconditionally.
She was the mother of Luann Coughlin (Michael), Lynn Iannuzzi-DiBene (Edward), and Gina Witteman (Kenneth); grandmother of Ryan and Taylor Coughlin, Miranda Iannuzzi, Kaylie Witteman, and Edward and Michael DiBene; and sister of Joseph Palmisano II (Dolores) and the late Thomas Palmisano. She is survived by several brothers and sisters-in-law, as well as nieces and nephews. She was the beloved friend of Mary Lockery and Lucy Warren. She was predeceased by her nephew, Rev. Joseph Palmisano III, S.J.
The visiting hours were on June 1, at The Havens Family North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated in St. Elizabeth of the Trinity Parish at St. Therese Church, 555 Middletown Avenue, North Haven. Interment followed in All Saints Cemetery.
