Branford’s Showmobile and ‘TGIF’ Premiere on May 12
Branford’s brand-new showmobile will premier as the event stage for “TGIF,” a brand-new, live music series Fridays on the Branford Green.
TGIF’s music will play from 6 to 8 p.m. and the weekly shows will kick off Friday, May 12. The new Branford Parks and Recreation program is generously sponsored by the Branford Community Foundation.
Local bands scheduled to play in May are Lunchbox on Friday, May 12; The John Spignesi Band on Friday, May 19; and Mix it Up on Friday, May 26.
Branford’s new showmobile, a 20’ x 40’ transportable, self-contained event stage, arrived by trailer from Minnesota to the Branford Community House on April 13, where it was greeted by Parks and Recreation Director Alex Palluzzi Jr. See video of its arrival, produced by Branford Arts, Culture & Special Events Coordinator Colin Sheehan, at Branford Parks and Recreation on Facebook. Updates on TGIF shows will also be posted at the page.
“The Town of Branford showmobile has arrived! Get ready for lots of concerts, fun, entertainment and events,” said Sheehan.
The showmobile was purchased with American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding of $220,000, as approved by Branford’s Representative Town Meeting in 2022.
