East Haven Girls’ Tennis Grabs Two Wins; Baseball Loses Two
Baseball
Yellowjackets baseball had a mixed week, putting up a win and taking back-to-back losses. The team hosted North Branford on April 17 in a 6-1 victory. They hosted Law on April 19 and lost 5-3. On April 21, the team traveled to Cheshire for a 14-4 loss. The team owns a 4-4 record.
Softball
Softball ended the week on a high note, securing a win on the road after taking back-to-back losses to start the week. On April 17, the team hosted Cheshire in a 13-1 loss, and on April 19, they traveled to Milford, falling to Law 10-2. On April 21, they hit the road to Shelton, earning a 8-5 victory. The Yellowjackets are 3-7 for the season.
Girls’ Tennis
Onb April 18, East Haven girls’ tennis traveled to Career Magnet and grabbed a 6-1 win. Singles victories came from Alyson Alberino (6-0, 7-5), Abby Brooks (6-0, 6-1), and Melania Korenovsky (6-3, 6-3). For doubles, Sydney Herard/Annora Sayers 6-0, 6-0), Diya Patel/Julia Nargi (6-0, 6-0) and Hailey Ahumada/Idalis Lucero (default) recorded wins.
They then picked up a 6-1 win over Platt Tech on April 19. In singles play, Izabella Olszewski earned a 8-1 victory, Abby Brooks picked up a 8-3 victory, and Melania Korenovsky won 8-5. In doubles, Sydney Herard and Annora Sayers earned a 8-1 win, Diya Patel and Julia Nargi took a 8-4 victory, and Hailey Ahumada and Samantha Thy won 8-4. The team is 5-2 on the season.
Boys’ Tennis
East Haven boys’ tennis took three 7-0 losses this week. They hosted Lyman Hall on April 18 before traveling to North Haven on April 19 and playing host to Foran on April 21.
