Breaking Bread Together In Spirit of Community
Breaking Bread Together In Spirit of Community, a fundraiser for our unhoused neighbors, will take place Saturday, May 13, at 11:30 a.m., at First Congregational Church, 122 Broad Street, Guilford.
Participants will gather at the First Congregational Church in Guilford to advocate the decriminalization of homelessness and support unhoused people in New Haven as they fight for dignity and agency. On the day before Mother’s Day, they will break bread together and have an opportunity to talk with a representative of the Unhoused Activist Community Team (UACT) Mark Colville of Amistad House, the New Haven Catholic Worker House. Every attendee will receive a copy of Broke in America, signed by the authors.
Food will be offered to those who gathered, including artisan baked goods, Moroccan chicken, poached salmon, an array of salads, a Tater Tot casserole from the folks at St. Mary’s Church in New Haven, and other delights. There will be a silent auction on site.
Tickets can be purchased here: tinyurl.com/inspiritofcommunity.
