Geraldine M. Jacobson
Geraldine M. Jacobson, 91, of Goose Hill Road, Chester, wife of Nathan L. Jacobson, died Friday, March 10, at Middlesex Memorial Hospital. Although Gerry was born and lived in Middletown in her early days, she always considered herself a “Chesterite,” where she happily spent the last 65 years of her life. Her final days were spent surrounded by her family, listening to country music, and holding the hand of her beloved husband and best friend, Nate.
She was born in Middletown, the daughter of the late Joseph and Josephine (Sochacki) Mlynarcik. She was predeceased by her sister Carolyn Augeri. She is survived by her son Geoffrey Jacobson and his wife Carol of Chester, and daughter Nadine Bell and her husband, Dr. David Bell of Rocky Hill. In addition, she is survived by five grandchildren, Sarah Robinson and her husband Matthew, Dr. Brian Bell and his wife Dr. Kimberely Rutherford, Kaitlyn Eannotti and her husband Joshua, Joshua Bell and his wife Heather Petzold-Bell, and Matthew Jacobson. Gerry was blessed with five great-grandchildren, Nathan and Madelyn Robinson, Emma and Ethan Bell, and Avery Eannotti.
Gerry’s most important life calling was as a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her interests include boating, reading, UConn basketball, and her Yankee/Red Sox rivalry with Nate.
In lieu of flowers, a donation in Gerry’s memory can be made to Forgotten Felines or an animal shelter of your choice, YMCA Camp Hazen, or The Chester Historical Society. Services were privately held at the Robinson, Wright & Weymer Funeral Home, Centerbook. Interment took place at Cedar Lake Cemetery, Chester.
