Hand Boys’ Ice Hockey, Girls’ Basketball Fall in States Play
Boys’ Ice Hockey
The Hand boys’ ice hockey team began Division II State Tournament play as the #9 seed, where they took on #8 seed Farmington Valley in the first round on March 7. The Tigers narrowly won by a score of 2-1. Their season came to a close in the quarterfinals on March 10, when they took a 5-2 loss to #1 seeded North Haven.
Girls’ Basketball
On March 10, the Hand girls’ basketball team took a 50-27 loss to #4 Mercy in the semifinal round of the Class MM State Tournament. Senior Natalie Lucas led the scoring for Hand, netting 10 points while senior Coco Rourke added six points, six rebounds, and four steals. Senior Carson Miller netted five points and four boards.
