Despite frigid temperatures and a little bit of snow, the Madison Chamber of Commerce’s Souper Bowl event on Feb. 25 crowned the best chili and soups. The annual event drew hundreds of people to downtown Madison to taste and then vote for the best soup and chili in town. For chili, Madison Hose Company No. 1 took first place, North Madison Volunteer Fire Department was second place, and the Madison Republican Town Committee earned third place. For soups, William Pitt-Sotheby’s won first place, Donahue’s Madison Beach Grille earned second place, and the Madison Beach Hotel took third place.
