Hand Boys’ and Girls’ Ice Hockey Take Home Losses, While Boys’ Basketball Takes On Conference Tournament Play
Boys’ Ice Hockey
Tigers boys’ ice hockey suffered a loss at home on Feb. 22 at the hands of Watertown/Pomperaug. They were defeated, 6-4, to bring their overall record to 7-10-1.
Boys’ Basketball
Boys’ basketball entered SCC tournament play on Feb. 23 at Guilford. They defeated the Grizzlies 70-56. Elijah Avery-Turner recorded a double-double with 23 points and 12 rebounds. Chase Geremia tossed in 23 points, including five from behind the arc. The team took on top-seeded Notre Dame-West Haven in the SCC quarterfinals on Feb. 25, falling 74-64. Geremia led the Tigers with 23 points.
Girls’ Ice Hockey
The Daniel Hand girls’ ice hockey co-op took a loss last week to bring their overall record to 7-9-1. They hosted Watertown-Pomperaug on Feb. 22, falling 6-4.
