Bruce R. Wagner
Bruce R. Wagner, of Westbrook, passed away at CT Hospice in Branford on Feb. 11. Born on March 20, 1941, Bruce was a graduate of Morgan High School in Clinton in 1959. After graduation, Bruce entered the Navy, serving aboard the Heavy Cruiser Des Moines in the Mediterranean during the Lebanon Crisis. Bruce worked for Wilcox Fuel, Inc. for nearly 50 years until his retirement in 2004.
Bruce is survived by his wife of 60 years, Karole Scharr Wagner; daughter, Darcie W. Hazuka and husband Walt of Westbrook; son Daniel B. Wagner and wife Ruth of Westbrook; honorary son Paul Cusson Jr., wife Tasha and their son Evan; brother, Dennis York wife Bunny of The Villages, Florida.; sister, Peggy Witham and husband Harry of East Lyme; nephews, Donald Jr., Michael, Timmy and Peter Venuti, Tucker W. Reynolds, and Joseph Boccia Jr.
Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, Richard Wagner of New Bedford, Massachusetts, Eleanor York of Clinton; sister Diane Venuti and her husband, Donald, Sr.
Memorial funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, March 3, at the Westbrook Congregational Church, 1116 Boston Post Rd, Westbrook. Contributions may be made to Westbrook V.N.A, 866 Boston Post Rd, Westbrook, CT 06498 in his memory. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Carl Swan at Hamden Memorial Funeral Home, Hamden.
