And I Thought It Was Just Juice
As I write this, I am sitting at one of my new favorite places, Moonshots, 1063 Boston Post Road, Guilford. Our first time there, we figured we’d just grab a coffee, or maybe a healthy-ish juice, but upon entering we were presented with a wide array of delicious choices, so many that we were monetarily stymied.
Acai bowls, lattes, pitaya bowls, chia parfaits, and many multiples of each. Toast? Yup. Avocado toast, feta toast, honey butter toast, and Elvis toast (cinnamon maca almond butter, banana, honey). Also, waffles. So many waffle choices. Smoothies too.
Our very capable server, Kyla, guided us through customer favorites and I ended up getting one of her recommendations, the avocado toast with vegan feta and a London Fog iced tea with vanilla almond milk, and a shot of lavender. Delicious.
Owned and run by the Moffitt family, including John, his sister Keeley, and his mom Kathy, along with their Right Hand Man and Manager Kieran Dall, they’ve been open for about a month and a half. They are currently revamping the menu a bit, keeping the faves, taking off things that did not fly, and adding a few new things as well.
Keeley says they have worked hard to make it a welcoming place, with couches, comfy chairs, and tables close to outlets where people like me can get a nosh and some caffeine and write. It’s the kind of place where moms can gather to chat in the afternoon and where kids pop by after school. It’s a great addition to our shoreline line-up of great places to eat and I hope you check it out soon.
