Deep River Police Incident Report for July 14 to 16
The Valley Courier publishes a Police Incident Report to inform residents of incidents, criminal activities, and police responses occurring in the towns of Essex, Deep River, and Chester. As those charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty, the report does not include names. It may be edited for space and content.

• No arrests were made and no incidents were reported.
• A 16 year-old of unlisted address was arrested at 11:09 a.m. on a warrant charging escape from custody. The accused was processed on a $1,000 bond.
• A 38 year-old Vernon man was arrested at 5:50 p.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs and risk of injury to a minor after police were dispatched to the area of Hillside Terrace and Route 80 for the report of an intoxicated driver operating a Jeep. Police observed the dark colored Jeep operated by a white male and stopped the vehicle to find he had his four year-old daughter onboard. The operator failed a standardized field sobriety test. He was processed and released at 11:40 p.m. on a $5,000 non-surety bond pending an unspecified court date.
