A Debt of Gratitude
The Scranton Library Friends (SLF) held its last book sale for this year on Nov. 15 and 16. We will start collecting books again on March 1, 2020 in the book bin located behind the closed laundromat on Bradley Blvd. Book sales are being planned for April 3, 4, 5, and June 19, 20, 21, 2020.
Many thanks go to all who donated books for our sales, and to the many who bought books. Led by Chairman Laurie Gerard, volunteers who worked at this last book sale are: Marsha Brunelle, Barbra Buckley, Marianne Frost, Bob Gerard, Susannah Graedel, Caroline Guenther, Helen Kitzman, Vicki Littell, Sandy Long, Arline Morrissey, Pauline Murphy, Ingrid Oris, Connie Piccione, Mike Piccione, Betsey Piner, Harry Piner, Joyce Rourke, Carmela Scialabba, Jen Thompson, and Diane Vanacore. These volunteers make the books sales possible with their hard work.
SLF owes a debt of gratitude to Davis Realty, which has allowed SLF to use the cottage behind the laundromat for book sales. We are very grateful for their support and generosity. We also thank Stop & Shop for donating bags for our $10 for a bag of books sale. Without the help of these people, SLF would not be able to hold book sales, which in turn allow us to support many library programs for people of all ages.
