North Branford to Open Warming Stations Ahead of Bitter Cold

The State of Connecticut is activating its Severe Cold Weather Protocol from noon on Thursday, February 2, 2023, until noon on Sunday, February 5, 2023. Low wind chill values are anticipated throughout this period.
Residents are urged to take care and remain sheltered during this anticipated extreme temperature drop.
In consideration of the activation of the Protocol, North Branford will be opening warming stations for residents in need during this period at the following locations:
Atwater Memorial Library, 1720 Foxon Rd., North Branford
Edward Smith Library, 3 Old Post Rd., Northford
The main entrances at both locations will remain open after 8 pm Thursday, February 2, through Sunday, February 5 at 4 pm. Those needing warming shelter will be able to access the main entrance, community rooms and bathrooms at any point during this period.
Residents can also call 2-1-1 to locate additional sheltering options near them.
