H-K Boys’ Hoops Drops Two Straight
The Haddam-Killingworth boys’ basketball team had a challenging week, posting a pair of losses.
On Jan. 24, the team faced Coginchaug on the road, falling by a score of 71-59.
Andrew Crayton’s 14 points, two rebounds, one steal, and one assist led the Cougars, while Declan Moriarty and Ryan Erskine contributed nine points each. Moriarty also had two assists and one steal, while Erskine added three rebounds.
Jay Evans added nine points and two rebounds for H-K, and Cody Robinson contributed five points and one rebound. Orion Inkel’s four points also added to the Cougars’ score.
Other contributors were Blake Kamoen (four points, five rebounds, one steal), Bryce Olinn (three points, four rebounds), and Tyler Perry (two points, one rebound, one steal).
The Cougars came back home on Jan. 27, where they took a 79-41 home loss vs. Portland.
Andrew Crayton led the scoring again for the boys, with 16 points to go along with five rebounds, one assist, and one block. Blake Kamoen also hit double digits, scoring 10 points while also recording eight rebounds.
Bryce Olinn scored six points and collected two rebounds, while Ryan Erskine contributed four points and one assist. Tyler Perry added two points and four rebounds, while Jay Evans contributed one point and two rebounds.
The Cougars are now 4-9 on the season. They faced East Hampton at home on Tuesday, Jan. 31 (after press time) and Morgan on the road on Friday, Feb. 3.
