North Branford Girls’ Basketball Posts Two Victories; Boys’ Hoops Splits a Pair of Matchups
Girls’ Ice Hockey
Girl’s ice hockey split the week, taking a win on the road and a loss at home. In its game on Jan. 23 against Fairfield Ludlowe/Warde, the Guilford girls’ ice hockey co-op took a 4-2 win on the road. The team hosted the Hamden co-op on Jan. 26, falling in the 0-2 loss. Now 5-8 on the season, they take the ice again on Saturday, Feb. 4, at home against the Masuk co-op.
Girls’ Basketball
The girls’ basketball team added to both the win and loss columns after two conference games. The team traveled to Old Lyme on Jan. 26, walking away victorious with a 61-40 win, before returning home to host Haddam-Killingworth on Jan. 28 in a 75-63 loss. The T-birds are now 7-7 on the season, 6-4 in conference play. They hosted Valley Regional on Jan. 31 (after press time) and will host Cromwell on Friday, Feb. 3.
Boys’ Basketball
The Thunderbirds split the week, posting both a win and a loss against conference opponents. The team traveled to Portland on Jan. 24, in a 77-45 loss, before returning home on Jan. 26 to host Old Lyme. The T-birds recorded a 48-33 victory. Now 5-10 on the season, 4-10 in conference play, the team traveled to take on Valley Regional on Jan. 31 (after press time) and will remain on the road to take on Cromwell on Friday, Feb. 3.
