North Haven Boys’ Hockey Goes to 12-0; Boys’ Hoops Notches a Pair of Victories
Boys’ Basketball
The North Haven boys’ basketball team took a pair of wins last week, with convincing wins over non-conference opponents Career Magnet and Cheshire. The Nighthawks completed the season sweep over Career Magnet at home on Jan. 23 with a score of 55-44. They defeated Cheshire on the road 45-32. The team is 8-6 overall on the season and 2-1 in conference play. They next host Daniel Hand on Jan. 31 (after press time) and will host Lyman Hall on Feb. 3.
Girls’ Ice Hockey
Girls’ ice hockey continued its tough season, posting three losses last week. The team traveled to take on Stamford/Westhill/Staples on Jan. 23 and fell 2-3. On Jan. 26, they hosted West Haven/SHA for a 2-4 loss, and they were dealt a third loss of 1-10 by Mercy/Northwest Catholic/East Hampton on Jan. 28. The team takes on the Hamden co-op at home on Feb. 1 (after press time) and will travel to Shelton to face the Masuk co-op on Friday, Feb. 3.
Boys’ Ice Hockey
The Nighthawks’ perfect season remains unblemished after recording back-to-back wins against Guilford and West Haven. The team defeated conference foes Guilford on Jan. 25 by a score of 8-3. In non-league play, they defeated West Haven on Jan. 28, 3-1. The team travels to Branford on Feb. 1 (after press time) and will hit the road to play Pilgrim on Feb. 4. The Nighthawks are 12-0 on the season.
