Art Created with Plastic Bags Coming to GFL
The Guilford Free Library, 67 Park Street, will host an exhibit by Marsha Borden, from Friday, Feb. 3, through Tuesday, Feb. 28. The display includes more than 15 large-scale wall sculptures, ocean scenes, wearable art, and more, all created with plastic bags.
Borden is a socially engaged, self-taught textile and installation artist with professional degrees in school psychology and education.
A 2022 recipient of the Connecticut Sea Grant and a 2019 juried member of the Guilford Art League, Borden has participated in artist residencies and community-based projects and has shown her press-reviewed, prize-winning work in numerous art galleries and museums both locally and nationally but also in parks and on city streets. She maintains a studio in Erector Square, an artists’ enclave in downtown New Haven.
