Arthur “Art” J. Fregeau
Arthur “Art” J. Fregeau, 83, of North Haven, husband of the late Janet (Parkin) (Willequer) Fregeau passed away Oct. 24 at St. Raphael’s Hospital, New Haven.
Arthur was born July 13, 1939, in Bristol, son of the late Telesphore and Olida (Riquier) Fregeau. Prior to his retirement he was employed by SNET as a Senior Technical Security Manager. He was a ham radio operator and member of the Meriden Amateur Radio Club, American Radio Relay League, and the CT ARES.
He was interested in photography and genealogy, he belonged to the New Haven Camera Club and Connecticut Association of Photographers and was a member of the French-Canadian Genealogical Society. Art was a member of the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary for many years. He served his Auxiliary as its Flotilla Commander, Flotilla instructor, and Flotilla Computer Services Officer.
Art is survived by his brother Robert Fregeau of Bristol; his stepdaughter Janice May (Willequer) Labbe and her husband Philip of Bristol; two granddaughters, Stacey Lynn (Labbe) Sirois and her husband Peter, and Michele Marion (Labbe) Ciechoski and her husband Marc, both of Bristol; three grandsons, Michael Labbe of Bristol, Thomas Rivers of Dartmouth, Massachusetts, and Jameson Rivers; and four great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his sister Anita Alice Fregeau.
Family and friends visited Oct. 28, at the Scott Funeral home, 169 Main St, Terryville, and a service followed. Burial was in Hillside Cemetery, Terryville. To read Art’s full obituary, please visit: www.scottfuneralhomeinc.com.
