The town of Essex will hold a candlelight vigil to express solidarity with the victims and families of today's tragedy in Newtown at 6:15 p.m. at the Essex Fire House. 

"This senseless violence affects us all," First Selectman Norman Needleman wrote in an email sent to residents of the town. 

Anyone wishing to participate in the vigil is invited to the Fire Housea t the corner of Saybrook and Westbrook Roads.
