Julia A. “Nan” Crowell, 71, of Seminole, Florida, passed away peacefully on May 6 with her loving family at her side. She was born on April 5, 1950 in Ashland, Maine, daughter of the late Edmund W. and Pearl R. Burby. She married James Crowell on June 18, 1971.
She is survived by her loving husband of 50 years; two daughters, Erin Hubbard and husband Matt of Middletown and Janna Norton and husband Ryan of Chester; her grandchildren who were her pride and joy, Addison Hubbard and Tucker Norton; sister Veronica Goss and husband Peter; brother Julian Burby and wife Jeanne; sister Patricia Butcher and partner Bob Miner; and a host of nieces and nephews, friends, and her special and beloved dog, Lola.
Nan graduated in 1968 from Middletown High School. She was patient accounts manager at Middlesex Memorial Hospital; past president of Patient Account Managers of Connecticut; past owner of Connecticut Medical Collection Agency; a member of the Essex Lions Club; treasurer of the Ivoryton Alliance community organization; and past owner of the Ivoryton Tavern and Café.
Nan loved family and hosted many celebrations at her home in Vermont to bring family and friends together making memories never forgotten. A celebration of life will be held at later date.
